THE PHARAOH’S DAUGHTER – Bolshoi Ballet

NR  |  4 hours 30 minutes

With its exotic setting, impressive parades, spectacular variations and crowd scenes, this grand 19th-century Orientalist fantasy is one of the most remarkable productions in the Bolshoi’s repertoire. The plot of this lavish production is loosely based on Theophile Gauthier’s novel Le Roman de la Momie. French choreographer Pierre Lacotte was exclusively commissioned in 2000 by the Bolshoi Theatre to resurrect Marius Petipa’s mighty Egyptian fresco, brilliantly giving new life to this forgotten masterpiece.

PULP: A FILM ABOUT LIFE, DEATH & SUPERMARKETS

NR  |  1 hour 30 minutes

Chronicling the band’s 2012 farewell concert in their hometown of Sheffield, England, PULP: A FILM ABOUT LIFE, DEATH & SUPERMARKETS is by no means a traditional concert film or rock doc. As much a testament to the band as it is to the city and inhabitants of Sheffield, PULP weaves together their career-best performance, exclusively captured for this film, with man-on-the-street interviews and dreamy staged sequences to paint a picture much larger, funnier, and more life-affirming than any music film of recent memory.

DIAL M FOR MURDER in 3D – Hitchcocktober

115 min | PG
Yes, 3D! Hitchcock’s 1954 classic was originally shot in 3D, but rarely seen that way by moviegoers. The film has been restored for gorgeous high-resolution 3D digital presentation. British tennis pro Ray Milland suspects that his wealthy wife Grace Kelly is fooling around with handsome American Robert Cummings. Milland blackmails a disgraced former army comrade into murdering Kelly and making it look like the work of a burglar. But Milland’s carefully mapped-out scheme does not take into account the notion that Kelly might fight back and kill her assailant.
